Some years back now when leaving MBR we had to pay nearly $300 for incidentals incurred where we used the credit card which was processed through the old carbon copy machine. Some weeks later back home I found my credit card was maxed out when trying to pay for petrol. Ended up there had been 3 withdrawls of just under $1000 each time at boutiques at Kota Kinta Bali (spelling?)in Malaysia, so my card had been pirated either through the duplicate copy or carbon paper. A thorough discussion with a bank detective and stat declaration saw the money replaced through bank insurance, but it was a wake up call, a pilot friend tells me staff are continually warned of these rouges now having swipe machines on belts who can process your info when they pretend to drop your card behind their counter - scary.
