Suggest you also try our favourite down south - Kafe Warisan (French Mediterranean)- on Jalan Raya Kerobokan, Kerobokan the next time you go... and in Ubud, you also have what is rated world wide as one of the best restaurants in SE Asia - Mozaic. Very expensive but worth every cent if you love fine dining like we do.
A word of warning - make sure you book well in advance for both restaurants.
Also, totally agree with your views on Ku De Ta - definitely overpriced for what you get and very pretentious in our opinion. For the the same money at Mozaic (Michelin rated)you get a 7 course chef's degustation menu, At Ku De ta you get glorified steak and chips.
