They are in a great location, you can sit on the beach at sunset having a drink before strolling down to the many good restaurants on the beach strip. Some nights you can watch the fire dancers.
Make sure you try Seaside C.a.f.e.
The shopping is pretty much the same all over Bali, so enjoy a newish area. Seminyak have more upmarket stores and Double Six has great bead and jewellery shops.
Sicilia is nearby and the Melasti has a spa.
