Sore everyone, Mic I have used EMS in the past and in November sent two packages home to Australia with just cheap t shirts , etc in and they arrived in my country NSW home town in six days, very impressed..HOWEVER...in the third time parcel, 10 kgs.. I put my Aussie shoes, one hand made pair new shoes from Bali for my son, two pairs of fishermans pants. presents etc and declared gifts on outside, paid insurance at about $72 Aus, in total, plus what was in package.
This parcel was sent on 12th November and still not arrived, I had the pos agent (Jl Patimurah) tel no. and rang and she is being told by "big bos at pos" that it had been sent and gave me the container number and Garuda flight no. 15th November, Denpasar-Sydney, but on contacting EMS Australia Post here, they tracked it from Denp to Jakarta and said it never left there. Even though container numbers were quoted, parcels can still be "removed" b4 hits container.
I have a Perth friend there now trying to follow it up as we are entitled to insurance, but they now say it has never happened b4 and dont know what to do about insurance claims. I am kissing it goodbye and only write this post to suggest to others that if you are going to send anything home, only put items you may never see again in parcel. The funny thing is, I sent another parcel two days after the third missing one, and it arrived in five days. Only cheap stuff in this one.??
