They do have some tvs at Tegal Sari and will lend them to you and install in your room, if requested. Not sure about dvd players, but knowing the way they handle all other guest requests, most likely will offer dvd too.

We had a tv in the room at Ubud Village Hotel.
Staff were ok and breakfast ok too (I didnt say great about either).

We have stayed at Tegal Sari on most trips to Ubud, and love it.
Last trip, as we couldnt get into Tegal Sari (You have book early and pay up front with your booking, only 24 rooms) we stayed at Ubud Village Hotel. Although we liked the hotel, location etc we felt terribly closed in. One morning I went out in the front private courtyard and felt clastrophobic and not feeling like I was in Bali. There was nothing to see within the high walls, unlike Tegal Sari, where your patio/balcony is private yet you can watch Bali at work. There is always something to see on the rice paddies, sowers, weeders, reapers, thrashers, bird scarer-offerers, ducks and duck farmers, egg collectors and you can hear the continual gentle noises of everyday life. The ducks quack, the women chatter, frogs croak and the birds tweet!

There is also Vila Rasa Sayang in the Monkey Forest road area, close to restaurants, shops etc. Not sure that they have tv, but rooms were very large and cost us au$50 per night, with breakfast included.
