I wouldnt mind if my partner wanted to spend a day with Indonesian friends or Aussie friend in Australia, I wouldnt tag along, so he can get his own feel for the country, its people and hear opinions from Indonesians who have lived here a while or Aussie as well.

My parents are paying for our trip down to Brisbane for xmas and the new year, we have dated for more than 3 years now, and are getting married in Jakarta in March.

The main reason for this trip is to meet his future "aussie" family (he's already meet with my parents several times in Singapore) and get a feel for what Australian life is like etc etc.

We plan after marrying to apply for a spouse visa to Australia so we can live and work there and raise the kids. We know we'll always have plenty of time and chances to move back to Indonesia later in life.

So again no I wouldnt mind at all, I'd even enjoy a day off and have time to do my own things instead of playing "tour guide" every second of the day.
