I have been here just over a week and have been stopped 3 times later in the night at the side of teh road in the main Kuta area.. Each time have been asked if I have a licence, can they see it, then once I show them my international licence I have been thanked and told to ride safe. Not once have I been asked for money and each of the 3 times the officers have been very polite and friendly.
