We left on the 26th nov to visit our favorite holiday destination,as I am airline staff we travel standby which has never been a hassle in the past as we have always been able to travel , not this time though. We arrived at the jet* desk 2 hours early only to be told there was no way we would get on the flight to take us to SYD to connect with another Jet* flight from SYD to DPS . A mad panic ensued as we pondered our options. In the end we decided to book a flight to Bne and then try to get a flight to syd luckily for us we where able to do this and arrived at syd with very little time to spare. An express taxi trip from domestic to international terminal got us there just in time to check in. As we checked in we where told that my wifes booking could not be found!!!! My heart rate at this time is in the vicinity of 180 and had been running at around this all day. Finally we got booked in and had a dash for the departure gate and arrived as boarding was announced and proceeded to our seats ( heart rate now at around 60 as we take off )

Touch down DPS at 1000pm after starting the morning at CNS at 0800am
I am acompanied by my Wife and brother the main reason for the trip ( if you need a reason to visit Bali ) is that it is my wifes 40th 0n the 27th, anyway we arrive at our hotel THE LOSARI after a smooth baggage collection at DPS Airport. The kitchen is still open so we sit and order a meal after checking into our rooms which we where very happy with very clean and spacious our meal arrives and is delicious. If you get the chance have a meal there as we have eaten there many times and it has always been beautiful and the staff are excellent.I had to have nasi goerang just to get into the bali mood yuuummm.

First morning in Bali and start the day with some pressies for the wife from our kids and then a nice brekky, off shopping and exploring ,walking and walking spending and spending that night we ate at a resturant called DROPS to cellebrate my wifes 40th year very nice.

Day 2 is alot like day 1 we are enjoying and exchange rate of 8175rp to the aus dollar how good is that ??? We have coffee at the coffee bean at Centro great coffee !! and of course if your near centro you must have some food from bread talk once again yyyuuummm !!!
Day 3 My brother and myself hire surfboards and hit the surf , we are lucky that there is some nice waves on the beach and are happy surfing there after a morning surf we have a nice brekky at Losari and then head of to Mr Dolphin Tattoo to arrange for a tattoo each, our first tattoo at that, we pick out designs and arrange for it to be done on our 2nd last day.

The days all roll into 1 as we continue to surf , shop, walk and eat . The usual suspects are apprehended in large quanities , DVDs , t shirts, sarongs, carvings and all manner of nik naks.
I can honestly say we did not have a bad meal whilst there and ate at the following places The Losari, Drops , Batan Waru , Aroma,s , Bread Talk, and a few more that I can't remember. We have also visited geneva and carrfore just to add to the shopping experiance. We also ordered dooner covers and pillow slips for 3 beds and we are very happy with the outcome.

Now the tattoos : Both myself and brother had tattoos done at Mr Dolphin, as we where both tattoo virgins we did not know what to expect, now if anyone tells you getting a tattoo does not hurt, they are lying !!! it does hurt but it is bearable and is a very strange type of pain something you must experience to understand, having said this they both came out great and we where more than happy with the shops cleanliness and the people doing the tattoos, new needles and ink etc.As soon as the tattoo was finished the pain was nothing to worry about , just make sure you apply the antispeptic cream often.

The next day and a half where spent doing much of the same as the first 5 days nothing to complain about, plenty of bintangs around the losari pool it doesn't get any better.

Oh no departure day what a bummer !!!

When we went to checkin to come home the plane was delayed by 8 hrs , not fun !!! we paid 100,000 rph to go to one of the lounges at the airport. If you ever get delayed in bali and you can afford the $13.00 aus do yourself a favor and go to one of the lounges. Comfy chairs , food, drink and just a more comfortable wait. Of course this delay meant that we missed our connecting flights to CNS so we had to wait till 7.30pm that night to catch a plane to Cns after arriving in SYD at 12pm.

Let me just say in closing that we had a great time in bali, the flights where a bit of a downer but hey we got to spend a week in Bali so it was all good. We are already planning trip number 11 for next year and hope to stay a little longer.

Hope you enjoy reading this JBR I am sure there is a lot of stuff I forgot to report but it was a great trip....
