The one with the ice rink upstairs is called TAMAN ANGGREK..
the other expensive malls (the two in the CBD) are called SOGO or Plaza Indonesia, very expensive! I dont even bother going there. Its the place where people want to be "seen"
Also another "place to be seen" is the two malls at SENAYAN.. Senayan City or Plaza Senayan, both across the road from each other :)
Other malls are:
Kelapa Gading n Artha Gading - both in North Jakarta
Pondok Indah Mall one and two (across the road from each other)
Plaza Semanggi
Ambassador Mall
Blok M Plaza,
any ITC store - Kuningan, Permata Hijau, Fatmawatti
oh there's just too many to mention!!
Some good resto's are
Bandar Djakarta at Ancol (seafood resto on waterfront) very busy, we always get there about 11am before the crowds come!!
TOMANG RESTURANT on jalan Cipete Raya - family favourite since 1990, lots of good indo food and seafood :)
Duck King - if you love chinese food
Tony Roma's if you want american such as ribs etc.. (expensive but good)

From the airport, if the in laws arent picking you up, get either a BLUE BIRD taxi or EXPRESS taxi (white colour) both are very reliable and safe.
