seem to offer great shopping and places to eat. There are so many that I can't even remember the names, apart from the Ciputra, which spans about six floors, and is probably much bigger than Chadstone (and if you know Melbourne, you'll know that Chaddie's pretty big, by Australian standards). The Ciputra mall has an excellent buffet restaurant, where you can eat to overflowing for around $7 AUD during off-peak times - not just bulk food, but food with taste. This particular place also has a chocolate fountain, which wasn't working when we were there, much to Princess's disappointment. One mall I visited had its own ice-skating rink.
There are two adjoining malls near the CBD, both of which feature top international designer stores. I didn't enjoy window shopping there, as the prices were way above my limited budget.
From what I've been told, Jakarta has several hundred huge malls. It's probably best to let the outlaws guide you.
Enjoy!
