each person is allowed 20kgs each, each way for suitcase and 7kgs hand luggage. We went with our son his girlfriend and 2 others and we were able to combine all our luggage weight. Some airline officers are quite strict with the habd luggae and will sometimes weigh each bag but we have never had this happen to us. In fact our last trip our friends brought home a box of ceramic tiles in their hand luggage and I brought back my 7kgs handluggage bag plus an electronic keyboard and stand and neither were weighed. The Bali number 7 bags only weigh a bit whereas a suitcase can weigh about 7kgs so if you can try to get the lightest case/bag you can to allow for more shopping.
