for insurance if you have an International drivers licence or are licenced to ride a motorbike back in Australia & not just covered as in some states under your car licence to ride a bike under so many CC.
Also if you do intend or riding a scooter make sure you check with your travel insurance company that you are covered on a motorbike & not just a car.We were surprised to find that many policies exclude motor bikes even if you are licensed.
We have been hiring a motorbike from the same place for years & the rate is 25,000 per day but we often will have it for a week or hire it twice during our trip.I can't remember the name but it's a small place in Jalan Padma Utara on the opposite side of the road to the MBR but a tad closer to Kuta.It's in a small block of shops that is set back from the road a bit & has a small car park out the front where all the motorbikes are parked.It is next door & just North of Bamboo corner restaurant & past 3 Brothers lane & the dog leg turn in the road.
I suggest to go in there & ask if they will do if for the same price.
