Jezabel_blu, these comments I am about to make are not directed at you personally, but my opinion of why Aussie Tourist maybe spoken to in this manner by the Balinese.
I have witnessed many Aussie's speak to the Balinese in a derogitary way and treat them with disrespect. I have witnessed the children of Aussies speak to the Balinese adults in the same manner and their parents just stand by and think nothing of it. Why would it be of any surprise that they would eventually return the abuse and disrespect that has been showered on them by others. For the people like you who obviously are very curtious to them, it may come as a shock to be spoken to like that. But next time you are over there, just be a little more observant of they way some of the Balinese are spoken to by some western people, that may leave you more shocked and speechless.
