Hi there. Look, in my opinion, Ubud wins hands down. Candi Dasa was lovely but it's fairly quiet and probably two or three days would see to it. Ubud is gorgeous. It's a foodies paradise. It's also quite sophisticated culturally and there are great walks to be done locally. Art is wondrous; especially the museums. There's a wonderful energy about Ubud. It's also close enough to visit so many other places for a day trip e.g. Tanah Lot, Jatiluwih, Padangbai and Candi Dasa, and others. The swimming at Candi Dasa at beaches is a bit limited but if you love fishing and snorkelling there are good options from there.
