we always just book the first 2 nights. The only time we have run into problems was during August, lots of europeans in Bali, we still found somewhere but had too check quite a few. And I agree with the person that said the real gems aren't in the brochures, we like to stay at Balinese owned places and there are soo many that are not advertised in Australia.
