As far as I know you must take a riding test in Denpasar. You could stuff around for a day or two just to get a test organised, then you have to pass it and get the paperwork done. Plus, there is the usual corruption thing whenever you try to do something done involving the bureauocracy in Bali. Far, far better to get an international licence in Oz.
