Hi I bought a mortar and pestle in ubud a few years ago. When we used it the first time it turned the garlic a interesting shade of grey. Had to laugh thats bali for you. The stone is really soft and seemed to slowly break down with the grinding. So now its my garic holder. You can by a granite m&P at any good chinese supermarket in Aust. I paid about $20 for a big one.
