Hi, we returned from the Isle of Smiles early Wednesday morning and tried to buy duty free at the airport and were told that because we were flying Qantas we weren't allowed to purchase any duty free because of the new "rules", but the guy in the duty free shop said if we were flying Garuda then you could take 1 litre, sounds very strange to me, but at the final check point water, liquids etc. were being confiscated.
