They were taken as part of a 5.5 month trip I took last year by myself ( speaking very little language) throughout Java, Sumatra, Aceh, Lombok, Sulawesi and a short time in Bali.
Hoping more of you venture forth and see what else Indonesia has to offer.
Sumatra is just amazing as well as Aceh. I travelled by bus from Medan to Kutacane in southern Aceh, then to Ketembe to see wild orangutans ( spent 8 days there- will put up photos soon)and then bussed it all the way up the centre of Aceh staying overnight and one day in Takengon ( ate in the street in Takengon at midnight with all the men- no problems whatsoever), even met someone who could speak english and hired him as a guide for the next morning.
Then from Takengon to Banda Aceh where the tsunami was- centre of Banda does not look like there had ever been a tsunami, but on the way to ferry to Pulau Weh there are damaged building still.
