hi, Legian would be the best place to stay. I personally like the Niksoma Hotel which is in a quiet area but surrounded by good restaurants and good shopping. No need to stay in the resort as there is lots to do right outside the hotel. If you want to stay in a resort for most of your time try Nusa Dua. Have fun
