I was waiting six hours at Denpasar for your flight to arrive. It was New Years Eve in Bali and pouring rain.
I arrived three hours before the scheduled 10.30 pm departure. I was then told that the plane would be leaving two hours late. A few of the passengers had been rung by Jetstar to advise of the delay. Most passengers had not been contacted.
I was waiting at Gate 6 at Denpasar Airport and saw you arrive. You arrived at 12.30 am when you were supposed to arrive at 9.30 pm. To fill in the time the Qantas people and the Imigrasi organised New Years Eve party games!
They made us move around the airport subjecting us all to several cabin baggage checks as well as a body search. First, we had to go to Gate 7. After setling there we were told to go to Gate 6. After we settled there, we were told to go to Gate 5 where we were all body searched. Then we were told to go back to Gate 6.
When the plane took off three hours late at 1.30 am, I was sitting next to a fat Chinese man who coughed all the time..............Bird Flu?!!
I pumped up the Jetstar blow up pillow and tried to sleep by putting the pillow against the window.
Jetstar did not offer us any free champagne for New Years Eve or as compensation for the delay.
When I was speaking to the Jetstar fellow on the following Wednesday, he was not apologetic about the three hour delay on my flight as he pointed out that recently the Jetstar flight from Honululu was 14 hours late! Last week the Jetstar flight from Honululu was 2 days late!
