I'm sorry old mate but I don't think you'll get much support for your views on this one. A 6 hour flight is not a short hop by any measurement. Add the overnight stuff and it certainly makes the whole gig a lot more difficult. Personally, I don't think that Nikki was being selfish at all, in fact quite the oposite. Nikki has paid her fare and is perfectly entitled to make full use of the functionality of her seat and the space around it. It is not Nikki's fault that the airline has chosen to shorten the seat pitch. If the seat rake has not been shortened in line with the reduced pitch then the complaint should be directed at the airline, not the poor soul who simply bought their ticket! The last time I looked, sitting up-right for the entire journey was not listed under the terms and conditions on the back of your ticket! I agree with you dennis...it can be really really off putting to suddenly have your personal space completely crowded out by a reclining seat - it happens in Biz class as well, albeit to a lesser extent. But the point is anybody who has flown overnight knows that once one person reclines, pretty much everyone has to do it. And it appears that most people are happy with that concept...except, it would seems you! Considerate adults, as you put it, usually wait until the meal service is over before reclining the seat so that is creates minimum disruption. But I'm not sure that coughing all over somebody until they raise their seatback is either adult, or considerate though Dennis. In fact, such behaviour is likely to incite some measure of air-rage! So the bottom line is, Nikki..ignore Dennis, recline all you like. If you don't like it Dennis...come up to business class mate. Cheers - kevin
