We drove before Nyepi, so bad traffic. Puri Dajuma quotes 2 hours from airport - I think 2 -2 1/2 would be plenty. Medewi beach is maybe 5-10 minutes north, and pemuteran about an hour. The roads are fine - just one lane, so not heaps of passing, quite quiet - especially compared to the south. I would contemplate driving it for instance. Our room at Taman Sari was the big 2 bdrm suite, so $$$, my mom's was $50 US. I think the others might be cheaper. At chris Brown's Reef Seen dive shop, he has a few rooms and you get a discount on dives if you stay there. Much cheaper rooms. Our restaurant was very good and OK prices. I don't think you need to book Puri Dajuma - and if staying for more than a few days I would try and negotiate once you get there. I had a look at Taman Sari's reservation book, and June/July looked quite full surprisingly (to me). Maybe call hotels once you get there a few days in advance. We only booked oour first night of travel - such a nice way to do it! Have a great trip and email if more questions.
