best way to pack washing powder/ coffee

was wondering what is the best way to pack some washing powder ie napisan? a snap lock bag? would really like to avoid white cross marks on my suitcase!
also coffee other than the prepack coffee sachets?
what are some of the other favourite things to take from home? I read up on the forum heaps before my last trip to Bali and lots of tips on what to take...like couple of old tea towels/ some disinfectant to splash around the toilet/ old coffee mug/ etc there were plenty of great ideas, and very useful for first timers.
