No problem at all. I just misunderstood your comment about wishing for a Dynasty type hotel and hoped you weren't expecting MBR to be equivalent. As much as I love MBR - I've stayed there 3 times in all types of accomodation - I would never tell anyone it was equivalent to Dynasty, lol.
I noticed one of your other comments about the breakfasts. Some people complain about the breakies and others think they're great. My experience is that the earlier you go, the better your breakfast experience will be. If you're the type who won't be getting to breakfast until after 9am, then maybe it won't be so wonderful and you might be better off going elsewhere. The breakies do get a bit repetitive but if you go at around 7.30am-ish you'll get everything nice and fresh. There's lots of variety - toast, pastries, fresh fruit, eggs any style you like (bacon can be requested from the egg man if there's none in the bain marie that day), they also have Indo style breakfasts with rice or noodles, funny little sausages etc.
I like to have my sleep ins when I'm in Bali though, so I only do the hotel breakfast on my first few days, then I skip it completely or have a later breaky elsewhere. There's some good options close by. Outside MBR gates on the opposite side of the road is the Sinar Indah shop, restaurant and hotel. Get your water and drinks etc from the shop, laundry can be done cheaper there than the MBR one as well - and the restaurant upstairs is a great cheap alternative for breakfast. I also used to go there instead of room service (which is pretty average, to be honest).
If you wander down the road to the corner of Jl Padma there's the Posers Bar. They do a massive breakfast for about (maybe just under) $4 from memory. That was bacon, eggs, toast - more toast with jam and honey, juice and tea or coffee. They have other options on the menu too but that was what I had the one time I went.
So don't worry too much about the breakfasts, regardless of what you've read. They won't be any real issue for you. Could always take a box of cocopops (or whatever) and buy some plastic bowls and spoons and get milk for kids breakies in the rooms. :)
I've put a link below (hope it works) of a photo I took overlooking the pool and new deluxe/suite rooms. They're the ones with the rounded balconies, and are on 3 levels next to the pool. There's also a small private pool the other side of those rooms too - but no swim up bar there.
