via Brunei. Emirates fly to Singapore and Dubai from Auckland via Brisbane. I have heard that Royal Brunei are quite good, but also strict on baggage. As they are a very Muslim airline they do not serve any alcohol but if you really want it as far as I know you can take your own on board and then get softdrink for your mixer. Brunei could make an interesting stopover point though.
