but both Grant and Ros have repeatedly stood by this as the explanation since the cessation of flights into and out of Adelaide. The payment and fees for landing rights may not be viable for the airline when basing their pickup load in Adelaide on forward bookings of say 13 people. That isnt to say that bookings made 30 days out might end up with 100 people on a flight but as far as forward bookings go, they say there have been insufficient.
Also, according to Garuda Adelaide quite a few people are happy to go via Melbourne. I hate having to fly backwards in order to go forwards and then almost fly overhead again. When the flights are cheap like the intro Jetstar ones I dont have issues with goint via the east coast. The worst part about flying Garuda is having to get the domestic airfare on top, pick up luggage and then re-check it in.
Somehow I just dont see Garuda re-entering the market here, but how I would love that 5 hour flight like the good old days.. cheers :-)
