Currency Not in Circulation

Does anyone know if any of the notes have gone out of circulation in the last 2 years?
When there last we encountered this problem. The notes were five years old but the dude on the notes was no longer alive or important and the note was replaced with a new guy on it. So no-one would accept the notes.
