I think the music you could hear was pumped out from the coffee shop that's only used for breakfast. The music they played at the pool area was okay, but the breakfast music was vile: one morning we were forced to sit through 'Happy Birthday to You', then 'How Much is that Doggie in the Window?', and it went downhill from there. For the rest of the day, I found myself singing '...the one with the wobbly tail...' Drove me nuts! We stopped going to breakfast after that. Seriously, what's wrong with a little gentle Balinese or Javanese music? Far more appropriate, and far easier on the ears, wouldn't you think?
So true about the flies on the breakfast. Why can't they cover the dishes? Most off-putting.
