Have used self tanning preps for years after a friend told me how it was she kept her all year tan going.
The 2 I am currently using are very good and they double as a body moisturizer. They are
Dove - Summer Glow available in 2 shades, has I think a slightly citrus fragrance. can purchase in supermarket or pharmacy 250ml bottle around $10, 500ml bottle around $16 -$18. This product is advertised as having an ingredient in it that prevents streaking.
Palmers Natural Bronze - available in 2 shades, has a cocoa butter fragrance - very nice. I purchased in pharmacy and 250ml bottle was around $10. This one is a pump bottle which I like.
There are a heap of these 'tanning moisturizes' that have been released in the last 12 months and they do work. Some are better than others. These are the 2 I would recommend. I get to try sample product from work.
As to straight out self tanning products, I would recommend 2. The first is the Neutrogena Sunless Tanning [continuous] spray [not an areosol]. Used to be available in 2 shades, deep and medium, but these days I have only seen the medium variant around. Good product, can see visible difference in a 1 - 2 uses. Does build up if used too frequently and you do have to rub in carefully as it will streak if you aren't thorough. Cost is around $20 for a 103ml bottle and is available in supermarkets and pharmacies.
Lastly and I have to admit I haven't used this product now for about 2 years. David Jones own brand tanning lotion. I used this from around 1995 and it was great,have put heaps of people onto it. DJ's used to get pre-orders for this product and as soon as a shipment came in, they ran out of stock. I couldnt tell you price now, and I assume it is still sold, but a 500ml pump bottle used to retail for about $30. [The only reason I stopped using it was because I was given a bottle of the Neutrogena to sample by the rep.]
Hope these suggestions assist. My friend Vik always says why be P.A.I [pale and insipid] when you can be D.N.E [dark and exotic] LOL.
