as a nurse i have been told that if the patient is sezuire free for a year they are allowed to drive ect and it is highly likely that he will remain sezuire free. as long as he remembers not to burn the candle at both ends and become tired that is ususally when sezuires happen as the brain funciton slows down. has he a good mate that will go with him to surf. it is highly likely that he will be surfing with some people anyhow and im sure if he asks others on the beach to keep an eye out for him they will, also perhaps he can hire a person to go surfing with him as a buddy to humour you ( yes i have a 21 year old and they think that they are invincible ) good luck oh by the way you could also go with him if you are that worried. great excuse for a holiday to bali
