and I had to do a trip the other way round. Every time my wife wanted to buy something in Perth i converted it into Rp, which really upset her and after awhile she told me in no uncertain terms that a dollar was a dollar and to please stop converting things into Rp.
On the way back to Bali my daughter bought a packet of life saver lollies in Perth and later in the day at a middle class restaurant in Denpasar I was able to by myself a meal plus a drink for less than her lollies.
