Jetstar cheap flights

Do they really end up that cheap for us ex Adelaide? Wanting others opinions. I'm not convinced they are that cheap, by the time you get a domestic flight from Adelaide to either Melbourne or Sydney and pay taxes etc on the so called cheap flights. Can you then get one way flights departing Denpasar? Are they also offering cheap flights for the return option or are you then at the mercy of the airlines to find flights at a reasonable price.
