The post by Aly is a pretty good coverage of the southern end of Sanur. But never sit outside anywhere and wait for your wife to shop. Go and have a beer while waiting.I have seen so many unhappy married couples here just because the husband is dragged along shopping. Give your wife heaps of money and let her enjoy herself. You can come and have a beer with me. Beer prices vary between 7000 and 12000 for a 330 mil stubbie. At the southern end of Sanur, there is small beachside restaurant named Kesuma this is about 200 metres from my place. My wife and I often go there, we share a grilled fish and I have a few beers. The price is never more than 80,000 rupiah. There are many cheap restaurants in the area.(Mago,Trophy,Bobbies,Donalds,Sea Horse, Clay Oven) are all good restaurants. All are close to your hotel. As is true of anywhere in the world, beer and food prices in the large hotels can be very expensive. Taxi fare between Sanur and Kuta is currently around 70,000 rupiah.
