God I love those staff in Bali restaurants. When they "Terima kasih Ibu" they sound sincere. What the hell I'd go so far as to say they ARE sincere. I love them. I love "Halo Ibu. Halo Bapak" I love the "Selamat Malam, hati-hati 'Bu". They ooze respect for all but especially their elders.
What brought this on was a coffee yesterday on our local 'cino strip where the waitress, and I feel I'm justified in using an insulting patronising politically incorrect title, the waitress kept calling us "lovie darlings" as in "Just coffee is it lovie darlings?" "Bye bye lovie darlings, have some lollies lovie darling". OMG sincere is not in her vocabulary. Didn't know whether to throw up or laugh. Luckily we went for the latter as we tottered out on our zimmer frames (NOT!!!!!)
