HI I have just booked flights for 3 of us in September, We are fighing via Perth. We got on to some cheap tickets via Qantas from Adelaide to Perth and then Garuda from Perth to Bali.
If you time your dates and times right you can get a flight out of Adelaide mid morning and an afternoon flight out of Perth. This way you dont have to fly to Melboure or Sydney to get to Bali. Which id you live in Adelaide is a bonus. The is nothing worse that flying the wrong way and 2 hours flying in the wrong direction. Sitting on the plane looking at the fligh map as you fly back over Adelaide to go to Bali GGGggrrrrrrrrrr.
If you return from Bali on a Saturday or a Sunday you can get a afternoon flight out of Bali to Perth and the a local flight from Perth to Adelaide.
It sounds like a lot of messing around but it is worth while, as I said you just have to be very careful with the connecting flights so you dont miss the flight. But it can be done. We should all write to Qantas as ask them to make this an option when you book.
