but I must advise you all of my recent disappointment with Aristo. We purchased the following from Merry Collections where Aristo worked previously on our trip in 2005. I had a suit made (2 pair trousers & after 2 fitting was very satisfied. 4 business shirts made were Ok but not good quality.(After 3 fittings). My wife had leather boots made & had adjustments made 4 times but still has problem with the boots.
We called at Aristo's on our arrival in Bali on 18th July 2006. Aristo was no where to be seen. I ordered 4 pr trousers & was quoted 200000 per pair,(expensive) & chose fabric & style from a catalogue that i took with me & placed the order. Walked out of the shop & got 100m down the road & the guy (no name or card)called out down the street--- He had not measured me. After measurement He said the trousers will be ready in 4 days.
Called back 8 days later & that guy not there & neither is Aristo & no pants.. Big language problem & I insist that he phone Aristo & I wait. 15 mins later Aristo calls & says that the previous guy has gone to Java & has been unable to get the fabric apart from 1 coduroy (blue).Nothing had been done at all.( My phone # was previously left). I complained strongly to Aristo. He said that hed would have one pair trousers made & would deliver them in 2 days time. 3 days later some trousers turned up at the villa where we were staying. The legs were twice as wide as they should have been.
(Like sailors pants. Aristo came next day & took new measurements & I was to return to the shop next day. When I go there the bottom of the pants had been taken in but the top of the legs were still huge.
The next day they were altered correctly. I feel that Aristo is the front man for the operation & is not involved in the tailoring at all. Sorry Colleen but I won't be using Aristo again.
