Sorry chilli chick bit confused with your follow-up the language wasnt misunderstood the order had been placed in front of other balinese friends some speak excellent language (english)and the person was known to have done this to some other sellers to I quess some circumstance enabled the person to not want or come back for the goods but they could have made some sort of compensation for the amount my friend had spent it was a lot of money for her to lose. Also the shop owner had a fax from that business man ordering the jewellry which had done many times but decided to cancel because said he wasnt selling enough who knows but its not like australia where other buyers are available when people order large amounts in bali they should have to pay no matter what as the balinese cant just write it off in tax.Ive purchased many items over the years for sales the people I deal with I always pay at least half so they can order the materials for their workers.I dont think there was a language problem in these cases just dishonesty but I do agree that miscommunication does happen it sure has to me when Ive asked for the cat to be bought to my room instead of the room key(very similar pronounication)that got the balinese laughing!
