Personally I find the hawkers in Senggigi much worse than Kuta but I guess thats cause they know me in Kuta :-) But they never hassle my guests when I am with them. Also I have to say that in 9 years I have never heard of an incident or even a rumour of any of the girls stealing from tourists so I reckon Camilles guide was just being cautious.

There should not be a difference in price between booking a ticket with the travel agent or direct at the airport. Rather than charge you extra on the ticket, the agent gets a margin off the list price. I always buy my ticket to Lombok at ther airport & back at the agent. There has only evern been a difference in price if I use a different airline. Also if you dont book with an agent & you do just roll up, if the next flight is full, go standby. I have done it often & never fialed to get on. Thy will sell the tickets 30 minutes before the flight, if anyone is late to check in.

I think the tax Bali to Lombok is Rp20,000 & Lombok to Bali
Rp11,000 (may be wrong by one or two k but its not much)

Its possible to eat cheap in Lombok you can get nasi campur for as little as Rp5,000 if you eat in the real local warungs. Made has a Rp3,000 breakfast every day as he doesnt want to join me in toast!

In the tourist restaurants in Kuta you can get a decent main course for less than Rp30,000.

Beer seems to cost more in Lombok. Its Rp 15,000 in most places. Still cheap by western standards though.

Anyway any more questions just ask :-)
