We had a similar encounter last year wrote garuda and they fobbed us off . you bought a package and yes the airline is responsible..
we ended up taking it up with small claims in perth and ended up with compensation . we were offered our 2days worth of accomadation back in cash or a discount on our next trip. we took the latter we paid for our next ten day trip and got four days extra free so it ended well.
