We stayed at the Mandira in January and I wish we had spent the extra and stayed at the Padma. The Mandira has some positive things as follows: great pools, good breakfast and in the same outdoor dining room you can sit in the sand, under cover right facing the beach and it is magnificent as its quiet with no cars..that is my favorite part of it. The rooms are clean but felt like being in a US motel....I felt like we were back in the US once we were in the rooms and not in Bali at all....We stayed in the high rise part in the back...I would next time try the Padma...we walked thru the grounds which were quite beautiful and I liked the expansiveness of it..though its much more in price...We did book our room at Mandira thru Asiarooms.com and got a great rate of $54 for the back rooms...We only stayed 2 nights at the end of a trip taking us all over the island...whichever hotel you pick will be good, the location of both is great...
good luck with your decision
