spent a month with a very large rubber band holding my battery latch together (on a cheaper kodak model) - the cost of HAVING to send the camera off to kodak for them to "fit" a new latch was almost as much as buying a newer better camera so I did. I brought a different brand as I was so cheesed off. Couldnt believe the mucking around that KODak was going to insist on- considering that the latch could have been sent through the mail, they were insistent on the whole camera being sent off ( like mailing you car off the get a spare tyre!) Apparently all of them do the same thing.
