This year we have done our travel insurance through HCF our ancillary benefit health insurer. They have covered most of my husband's pre-exiting illnesses, just one they haven't and we aren't worried about that one. The best news is that they have have not loaded the policy. Last year it cost us for the same length of time nearly $500 this year $189. HCF use QBE. Also if his health is still the same next year, they cannot see any problem for covering us for 4 months. We're intending to go to UK, Europe etc. In 2002 our previous company would only allow us 3 months and the policy was loaded. Also an extra excess of approx $200 per item if we claimed for any of the pre-existing illnesses (which we didn't).
