Tulamben is a wreck dive -- old WWII vintage Liberty ship. It's mostly covered in coral, etc. so it's hard to tell it was once a ship. It's also very near the beach, so it's a shore dive. The beach is made up of large, round, black stones that are difficult to walk on. The surf is fairly high, so getting out far enough to dive was a bit of an issue for us to wade out wearing all that equipment, negotiating those round stones, and not get knocked flat. The sea life is amazing, however, and abundant. There are several small hotels there at Amed, or you could make it a day trip from Lovina, although it's a long drive on crummy roads. It has been about 5 years since we were there, so things may have changed.
