I think we met the "Green Couple" your friend Kate referred to.
They stayed at our hotel, saw my sister & I come in to dump our bags filled with shopping, saw us leave again & arrive back again with more bags & decided to ask us questions because they thought we knew what we were doing!! The guy was very cut up over the porters, especially seeing that they were pre-warned about them by regular Bali goers!
The place they owed the money was at Dianne's shop in Tuban and the funny thing was, when they went to repay her the 20,000Rp taxi fare, they bought up big again & owed her even more money!! And yes, they were very excited about being given black shopping bags!
Then, to top things off, they got sucked in by the timeshare guys & were taken to the seminar, got the "free" t-shirt and the "free" holiday.
Luckily, they saw the funny side of things, ended up having a ball and already planning a return trip by the end of the year. We had a ball with them.
