I certainly find there is a difference flying B.C. It is just over a six hour flight from Sydney and I paid $550 to upgrade to B.C. and it was worth every cent.
Just for the seating alone I would pay that. Not only do you get wider more comfortable seating, you get prioity check-in(no waiting in long queues)baggage off first, excellent food and service, free use of B.C lounges both in Sydney and Denpasar. There is no way I would fly economy again.
To me it is worth it. Six hours cramped up in a tiny seat with no room to stretch out is not my ideal way to start my holiday.
