Though I love this hotel, a similar thing happened to me.

I booked 2 nights at the beginning of a my 10 day trip & 2 nights at the end. I emailed my request, had it confirmed by email too. I too, offered to pay in advance but was told it was not necessary. It never occurred to me when I checked out the 1st time to double check my booking for the 2nd stay. When I fronted up again 6 days later, they dcouldn't find any record of my booking & said they had no rooms available. Fortunately I had a copy of the confirmation email with me, showed it to them & miraculously a room was found - a twin, when I booked a double. I insisted on a double as per my booking & sure enough one was found! Hmmm! So they weren't full after all!

I understand that human error does occur from time to time, but as the mistake was not mine, an apology would have gone a long way to soothing my ruffled feathers. Unfortunately the reception staff were not of the same opinion!

If I hadn't had a copy of the email with my booking........!!!
