Female, travelling alone as hubbie not well enough to travel.Choice go solo or not at all, not really a difficult decision eh..

Flew ex Bris, economy chockers Garuda was OK, but I hated the trip -4 hrs by bus from Fraser coast-4hrs wait at airport and then 6 hr flight. Have been soooo spoilt previously living in Darwin, 2hr 20 min flight. However worth the effort-loved getting back to Bali.

Stayed in Legian at Suriwathi on Jl Sahadewa betwen Melasti and Padma as suggested by forumites ( recent secret womens business group)Very happy with Suriwathi, great location, friendly staff big room ,soft pillows.Breakfast basic but would not hesitate to recommend it as very pleasant budget accom.

Day 1 Walked as far as Double 6,very quiet a lot of shops not open.Managed to purchase mangosteen so first mission accomplished and taste buds satisfied.Small world, bumped into my insurance agent and family from Darwin so joined them for lunch at Wayan and Friends.Later found S&S&S bar (Sammi Suzie & Smudge bar)Had organised to meet Smudge to arrange collection of a suitcase of donated clothes. Went there a couple of times and met forumites Nicno plus the friendly Travella and Louise, enjoyed the company Bintang and sunsets.

Day 2 Did the Jl Padma and Melasti shopping strip. Todays treat was a much anticipated Cream hairbath at Tapa Spa,60 mins rp45,000. Oganised the Hotel driver to take me to Tanah Lot.Sadly lots of smoke and light rain so not much of a sunset or photo opportunity.I invited the driver to bring his wife and one year old son with us so happily ended up more like the Aussie grandma than a tourist.

Day 3 Woke early so decided to check out the Legian markets nearby.Realised it was still a bit dark so it was a very brisk walk, looking over my shoulder... Love the buzz at the morning markets.Luckily just made it back to the hotel prior to a tropical downpour.Met up with a friend who lives in Sanur and runs Bali Weddings International. Hadnt caught up with her for years so it was a talkfest over lunch at IndoNational.Todays pampering was a rice massage. In the evening I joined the very kind hearted Smudge and Made at the Cat & Fiddle restaurant in Sanur for a meal and Irish singalong. On the way home I called at the Hula to take in the floor show. Very brave of me seeing it was mainly a gay crowd and I felt like I was the one standing out.. he he.... to be cont.
