friend of our just returned from Bali with great sadness - he has been going for many years (is an importer in Sydney) - but he said that the vibe at this present time is so morbid and sad that he is seriously rethinking his next trip to maybe Thailand or Vietnam. He said the streets were incredibly quiet - only 1 or 2 at Billys at any given time, even nights - he sais everything was very expensive in comparison to his previous trip - he said the secdurty was very very goodk, but this made him feel insecure - he said Bali has lost of its "feel" - hs says it has changed so much it's hard to describel. This makes me so sad - for myself and mostly for the Balinese - is this true or is he exagerating?
Do you think that if the airlines/wholesalers were to bring out some "too good to refuse" deals that this would help - as it is now, the packages are more costly than they were two years ago or even one year ago. The Flight Centre used to bring out random deals at the rediculous cost of $599 for six nights - do U think if they started doing this again that it would entice people back to Bali. Surely if people think they are getting a bargain, then they can't say NO and will start returning if enough good deals are offerred - what do you think?
