We do have a Rotary program running where we do encourage people to visit their sponsored child at the schools, and have no problem with other joining in.
However, our visits are on Saturday mornings. The reason for this is that these is their 'activities' day as opposed to their main education days, which we don't like to disrupt any more than we have to.
The students and the sponsors benefit tremendously from the interaction.
I'd suggest that you talk with any of your hotel staff or your driver about visiting the school in their village. In most cases they jump at the opportunity to share with you, and you will get to see part of Bali that you would never normally see.
